Audible’s website language, your account region and an audiobook’s spoken language are three different things.

Why a title may be missing
Audio rights and catalogues vary by territory. A translated book can exist without an Audible edition in every country.
Start with the spoken language
A retailer can display an English interface while selling a German recording, and a German storefront can contain English recordings. The field you need is the audiobook’s language, followed by its narrator and edition title. Book translations do not always retain the English title word for word. Search by author and compare the series position if a familiar-looking title is not enough. Our book pages put language-specific recording cards beside one another so you can see how titles and casts differ. This is especially helpful when buying for somebody else: ask for the language they want to hear, rather than only the country in which they live.
German Thursday Murder Club and We Solve Murders
The German club recordings listed in this guide feature Johannes Steck and Beate Himmelstoß. The newer series uses a separate cast: the first We Solve Murders recording lists Richard Barenberg and Wolfgang Wagner, while Wir jagen Schatten lists Detlef Bierstedt and Richard Barenberg. These are different recordings of different novels, so a narrator search alone is not enough to identify the right sequel. Wir jagen Schatten is the German title of We Chase Shadows, the second book. As checked on 8 October 2026, its Audible.de listing offers a purchase option rather than a pre-order. Open the exact book card for the linked edition.
Spanish and Italian choices
For the Castilian Spanish club recordings, the guide lists Marta Martín Jorcano and Azucena Díaz. That language label matters: Spanish recordings can be produced for different regional audiences. The Italian club titles use Gigi Scribani and Francesca Vettori, while the Italian We Solve Murders recording lists Francesca Inaudi. A print translation, an audiobook and an interface translation are separate things. If you cannot find a recording for one title, do not assume that another language card on the same page proves availability in your country. Use the exact retailer listing or its author catalogue to establish which version is offered.
Reading alongside the audio
Listening while following a print translation can be a satisfying way to enjoy dialogue and vocabulary. Check that both editions are the same translation where the translator is credited; otherwise individual wording may differ even though the plot is the same. Begin with short sessions and use chapter headings as navigation points. A narrator’s expressive interpretation can help a scene feel clear, but an unfamiliar accent or brisk delivery may need a little adjustment. This is a reading choice, not a test. It is fine to use a familiar English edition beside a translation if that makes returning to the story more enjoyable.
Buying without mixing up editions
Before using a credit or paying, confirm the title, author, spoken language, narrators, abridgement status and marketplace. If you use more than one regional account, sign in to the one you intend to purchase through before relying on the displayed availability. Retailer samples are useful for checking voice and language together. Prices, membership terms and territorial rights can vary, so compare the listing itself rather than a search snippet. Keep a note of the recording you chose if you plan to continue the series: that makes it easier to find the matching language and format for the next book. Our audiobook finder supplies the starting filters; the book guides supply the series context.
