From programme-maker to novelist

  1. Pointless begins

    Osman moved from behind-the-scenes television production to co-presenting the quiz he helped create.

  2. Richard Osman’s House of Games begins

    The weekday BBC Two quiz placed four celebrity contestants across a week of changing games.

  3. The Thursday Murder Club is published

    His debut introduced Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron and began the first mystery series.

  4. The Rest Is Entertainment

    Osman and journalist Marina Hyde became hosts of Goalhanger’s entertainment-industry podcast.

  5. A second mystery series

    We Solve Murders introduced Steve and Amy Wheeler and author Rosie D’Antonio.

  6. The first novel reaches the screen

    Netflix released the feature-film adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club, produced by Amblin Entertainment.

  7. A House of Games handover

    Banijay announced that Osman would record one final week after nine series and hand the programme to a new host.
